Wow! Nice job! Who can pass up a deal like that? I have a shed full of "deals" that I couldn't pass up. Hopefully one day I will get to them all! HA!

Well, what I have done is about 20% of the overall basement. Another 20% is a bathroom that was gutted due to the water damage and will be insulated by contractors (soon hopefully). I'd like to say that it has made a difference, but I have a feeling it is my imagination until I have a larger chunk done :)

I'll post that picture of top of the concrete later today and hopefully you'll be able to chime in on that to make sure that I'll do it the right way :)

I would try to use great stuff foam to seal the foam boards to the joist and plate as best you can seeing they are both close to the foam board. Have you noticed a change in the temperature down there?

Not yet. I'm not quite sure how to do it as our situation is a bit different than the one you have described. At the top of the concrete wall, there is a 2x10 that is almost flush with the concrete (maybe 1/4" overhang out). That is the case on the wall with the window. The other wall has a joist running right on top of it (once again, about 1/4" overhang out). I'm not sure what the best route to take on it is. You can see the picture of that joist in the second to last picture. I have a couple other issues I'm going to run into in the rest of the basement which will I'll describe in detail along with a picture of this issue in my next post if I can get to it today.
