Removing 10 times painted on popcorn ceiling texture (textured multiple times) from a ladder with an ice scraper.
Once I can move my back again, I’ll take pictures and provide some reasoning for my madness.

Awesome. This very same thing is on our to-do list. Our popcorn ceiling texture has been painted over, too. But your post give me strength–knowing that painted over texture can be removed without having to re-drywall.
Yikes! I only had to do that one time and, luckily, it had never been painted. And I really should not lie and say “I”, because it really was my husband who did all the work!
Projects like this make me consider the merits of buying some scaffolding.
Scaffolding would have been nice. Granted we have 8′ ceilings, and not 14′ or so like some people have, so it would only have been used to get me up a couple of feet. But it would sure beat moving a ladder every two feet.
