Scaffolding would have been nice. Granted we have 8' ceilings, and not 14' or so like some people have, so it would only have been used to get me up a couple of feet. But it would sure beat moving a ladder every two feet.

Projects like this make me consider the merits of buying some scaffolding.

Yikes! I only had to do that one time and, luckily, it had never been painted. And I really should not lie and say "I", because it really was my husband who did all the work! :-)

Awesome. This very same thing is on our to-do list. Our popcorn ceiling texture has been painted over, too. But your post give me strength--knowing that painted over texture can be removed without having to re-drywall.
