I keep my word.

House

You remember the flooring contractor who was supposed to be here almost two weeks ago? Fired.

Round two starts tonight with a new contractor looking at it at 5pm. If this guy can keep his word, which I find half of these guys can’t do, he will be here Thursday to patch the floors if we give him the go ahead.

That is all I have. Just enough for three sentences and not even a single picture. :(

Hope you all are having a great Monday!

It’s soooo frustrating when a contractor tells you one thing and does another. I’d be ok if they’d at least kept me in the loop about what’s going on. Good luck with the next one.

They never show up when they say, they never call — they expect you to call them. The job is never done on time or on budget. I don’t see how anyone in the contracting profession stays in business. The profession overall has a negative reputation! If you find a good one, keep him/her!!!!!!! In fact, instead of hiring a contractor, we decided to do it ALL ourself! I just don’t feel like micromanaging one more person who is supposed to be a professional and is supposed to be EARNING my money. :-)

It sucks that you guys had this experience, but I’m glad you held your ground. Maybe if more people did this, it would get around the industry that we’re not taking it anymore. Better luck with the next (and hopefully last) guy.

Way to go!! We have the same issues around our place with the electrician/carpenter/plumber.

whatsup: Why don’t you fire him then? Or should I say yourself? All depends on if you are dad or mom :)
